California P Visa Lawyers
Athletes and entertainers usually enter the U.S. under a P Visa. However, other types of visas can be used depending on the situation.
- The P-1A Visa is for athletes, either individually, or as part of a group or team, that is internationally recognized.
- The P-1B Visa is for entertainers or persons who are an essential part of an entertainment group that has been recognized internationally as being outstanding in the discipline for a sustained and substantial amount of time.
- The O Visa can also be used for entertainers or athletes. It is for persons with extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business or athletics which has been demonstrated by sustained national or international acclaim.
- The H-1B Visa is used for fashion models. It is important to note that H-1B Visas are capped at 65,000 per fiscal year. The cap does not include an additional 20,000 visas per year for persons with a master's or higher degree from a U.S. institution of higher education.
